French FM Warns about "Irreparable" Results of Military Attack on Iran

TEHRAN (FNA)- French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said on Sunday that everything should be done to avoid military action against Iran as any attack on the powerful country would have irreparable repercussions for the world.
Military attacks on Iran could create a "totally destabilizing" situation in the region, Juppe stated on Sunday, saying France would instead harden sanctions.
Juppe told Europe 1 radio that his country would only go on with sanctions "because a military intervention could create a situation that completely destabilizes the region", he said.
"Everything must be done to avoid the irreparable," he said.
The remarks by French diplomat came after Israeli President Shimon Peres warned on Sunday that an attack on Iran was becoming increasingly likely.
Israel has many times intensified war rhetoric against Iran, claiming that war on Iran is impending.
Iran has, in return, warned that it would target Israel and its worldwide interests in case it comes under attack by the Tel Aviv.
The United States has also always stressed that military action is a main option for the White House to deter Iran's progress in the field of nuclear technology.
Iran has warned it could close the strategic Strait of Hormoz if it became the target of a military attack over its nuclear program.
Strait of Hormoz, the entrance to the strategic Persian Gulf waterway, is a major oil shipping route.
