Shura Council condemns subversive incidents in Bahrain

Manama, Jan. 23 (BNA)--The Shura Council condemned today the unfortunate incidents in Bahrain which threaten national security and stability.
It denounced targeting security officers, blocking roads, burning tyres and vandalizing private and public properties describing these acts as a transgression of the law and national fundamentals and a direct encroachment on personal rights, security and freedoms.
The council deprecated in a statement issued today these illegal practices which have grave repercussions, asserting the need to comply with the law, avoid using religious rostrums to incite violence, subversion and attack of security men who have been entrusted with protecting the nation and citizens, safeguarding freedoms and rights and maintaining the rule of the law.

"The current phase requires all to have a collective stance for the sake of the country and citizens, and to preserve national unity and social fabric."

The Shura Council reiterated support for all steps taken to promote national unity, security and stability under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the visionary policy of the government led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.
