KUWAIT: Kuwaiti embassies around the globe continued to celebrate Kuwait’s 51st Independence Day and the 21st Liberation Day, and the sixth Anniversary of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s assumption of leadership. Kuwait Embassy in Qatar held late Thursday a ceremony in celebration of national events which was attended by former GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman Al-Attiyah, members of the diplomatic circle, and a number of Kuwaiti and Qatari citizens.
Kuwaiti Ambassador to Qatar Ali Al-Haifi congratulated Kuwait’s leadership and people on the advent of such joyous celebrations. He affirmed that Kuwaiti and Qatari relations were of great importance, adding that the Qatari full-hearted involvement in the celebrations was a clear sign of the ties that bind the two nations. In Morocco, Ambassador of Kuwait to Rabat Shamlan Al-Roumi held celebrations commemorating the national occasions. The celebrations were attended by Moroccan state officials, diplomats, in addition to academics and other personnel.
Moroccan Ministers from various sectors attending the event, congratulated Kuwait on its national celebrations, wishing the Kuwaiti leadership and people all the prosperity and progress. Kuwaiti Ambassador to London Khaled Al-Dowain held similar celebrations attended by British officials, Arab and foreign diplomats, in addition to others. The Kuwaiti Ambassador thanked all who attended the celebrations, stressing that such reflected the status of Kuwait amongst world nations.
He took the chance to congratulate the Kuwaiti leadership and people on the dawn of the glorious national occasions. From Paris, Kuwaiti Ambassador Ali Al-Saeed told KUNA that the national occasions was a special event that reflect strong relations with other world states. During the Kuwaiti Embassy celebrations in the French capital, Ambassador Al-Saeed thanked France for its strong stance during Kuwait’s dilemma in 1990 and its participation in the forces that liberated the country from the Iraqi regime. On her part, former French Foreign Minister Michele Alliot-Marie stressed the strong partnership and relations between Kuwait and France, citing several historical happenings and agreements that reflected the nature of such relations.
Kuwait embassy celebrations in Rome were also held under the supervision of Ambassador of Kuwait to Italy Sheikh Jaber Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah. Sheikh Jaber Al-Duaij said that the national celebrations coincided with anniversary of the constitution’s establishment which paved the way for founding of a modern and strong Kuwait. He thanked all who attended the event. The Kuwaiti embassies in Sarajevo and Dakar held similar events celebrating the GCC nation’s national occasions. – KUNA
