Manama-August5(BNA)A man accused of fabricating and holding explosives for terror designs will appear before the High Criminal Court on Tuesday (August7), Acting Attorney General Wael Boualley announced today.

The man also stands accused of attempting to murder two policemen whilst on duty, setting fire which endangered people’s lives and money and detonating explosives with the intent of terrorizing innocent people. If indicted, the defendant could be sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Public Prosecution charged the man with planting explosives at a mock cork and paper-made GCC Monument in Sitra.

Two policemen suffered serious injuries last April 15 when they tried to remove the mock monument, which was placed near Sitra Social Central.

The accused had then admitted fabricating and planting explosives – along with other accomplices – with the intent of targeting policemen.
